Ben Wheatley’s period drama A Field In England has won the special jury prize at the Karlovy Vary International Film.

A Field in England is the first film to be launched on various platforms, cinema, DVD and TV simultaneously in the UK.

Wheatley gave his thanks in a special video while the producer of the film, Andy Starke was there in person to receive the award.

A Field In England is set during the English Civil War in the 17th century. An alchemist named Whitehead flees from his strict master Trower and meets Cutler and two travellers, Jacob and Friend. Cutler is holding the two travellers hostage and captures Whitehead as well. He threatens the captives and uses hallucinogens on them to induce them to help him and an Irishman, O’Neill, find treasure buried in a field.
