“It’s enough to make you want to revisit the 1930s.”

An exciting new period drama is swinging and jiving onto our screens early next month in the form of Stephen Poliakoff’s  Dancing On The Edge.  This five-part series is based on a true story following the Louis Lester Band as they find fame performing to the upper class London party scene.  All the glitz and glamour (and fantastic outfits!) of 1930’s London are on display. However, the darker little-know aspect of English 1930s society is also explored as a journalist investigates behind the scenes prejudice, racism and murder.

The best part of all of this is music! The series’ original score is composed by Adrian Johnston (Becoming Jane, Kinky Boots) who has collaborated with Stephen Poliakoff in the past. The trailer features the band belting out the song  ‘Dead Of Night Express,’ set to be in the first episode, which looks brilliant. We can’t wait to see what else Johnston has to offer!

The first episode airs on BBC Two on the 4th of February. Will you be watching? Check out the trailer and let us know your thoughts below..
