‘New Worlds’: Channel 4 Goes All Historical The creators of the multi-award-winning Devil’s Mistress have teamed up again to produce an a historical period drama mini-series for Channel 4. This four-part drama, entitled New Worlds, tells the story of the political struggles in the aftermath of English Civil War both at home and overseas. The award-winning writers Peter Flannery and Martine Brandt, along with the director Charles Martin (Skins, Wallander), have attracted a glittering cast with many familiar faces from your favourite period dramas. Jamie Dornan (The Fall’s), Joe Dempsie (Game of Thrones), Freya Mavor (The White Queen) are all starring along side ’s Jeremy Northam (Gosford Park) and Alice Englert (Beautiful Creatures). It’s hard to see how it can fail! Company Pictures’ Mark Pybus remarked: “Following the success of The Devil’s Mistress, we are delighted to be teaming up again with Power and Channel 4 to bring Peter and Martine’s latest ambitious project to the screen.” The Filming of New Worlds is currently taking place in the U.K. and Romania.
