After two years off, Cosplay Conventions have returned with a bang. 2022 is shaping up to be an amazing year with events taking place across the world!
But how do you choose which event to go to? And are there even conventions near you?
Join us for this guide, as we’ll be listing out 10 of our favorite conventions to attend whether you’re an experienced cosplayer, or just starting out.

Japan Expo is an annual convention that takes place in Paris, France every July.
It’s the largest Japanese pop culture expo in Europe, with over 300 thousand attendees!
Japan Expo is a great place to discover Japanese culture and meet people who share your interests.
One of the highlights of Japan Expo is the European Cosplay Gathering (ECG).
The final stage of a cosplay competition that takes place throughout Europe. In this July convention you can see many of the best cosplayers in the world and attend the final masquerade with 15 thousand other fans!
PRO TIP – July in Paris gets hot so pack light! (The Convention Center does have air con)
Japan Expo is also a great place to buy Japanese goods, as there are many vendors selling anime, manga, and other pop culture items.

DragonCon – Atlanta, Georgia
DragonCon is one of the most amazing comic conventions around. Not only does it have a masive party feel, but it also has a Cosplay Parade that takes over the center of Atlanta!
DragonCon is the perfect place for any comic fan to let their geek flag fly and the convention center stretches across 5 hotels!
There are so many different activities to take part in, and you’re sure to find something that interests you. Whether you’re into gaming, cosplay, or just want to people watch, Dragon Con has something for everyone.
If you’re looking for an amazing comic con experience, Dragon Con and incredible cosplay DragonCon is the place to be!
DragonCon is held in Atlanta Georgia from September 1st – 5th 2022
MCM London Comic Con – United Kingdom
MCM London is the UK’s leading pop culture convention, and it’s always a fantastic event. Its also our home convention so we love filming there!
Cosplay is definitely one of the highlights, with so many creative and talented people showing off their amazing costumes.
PRO TIP – Avoid Queues by taking a Cable Car to the convention center!
If you’ve seen any of our MCM videos before you’ll be familiar with how massive these events are. But the atmosphere is always incredible too!
Held at the Excel Convention Centre in London, MCM is the perfect place to meet new friends and see some of your favourite YouTubers.
MCM hosts a wide variety of guests and panels from big names in the entertainment industry to up-and-coming artists.
MCM London is on from May 24th – 25th 2022
DoKomi Germany

Looking for a incredibly pretty cosplay convention to attend in 2022? Look no further than DoKomi
DoKomi is one of the largest anime conventions in Europe, and it is known for its beautiful gardens.
Throughout the event you’ll discover amazing cosplayers in some of the prettiest settings you’ll ever see.

The convention features a wide variety of events, including cosplay contests, workshops, and live concerts.
Dokomi is also home to a large dealer’s room, where attendees can purchase anime merchandise. If you’re looking for a beautiful and exciting anime convention, Dokomi is the perfect choice!
DoKomi is held in Dusseldorf on the 4th and 5th of June 2022
Emerald City Comic Con – Seattle
And this year it’s become a Summer Con!
Held annually in Seattle, Washington, the Con attracts tens of thousands of attendees each year.
One of the things that makes Emerald City Comic Con so special is the cosplay. Attendees come dressed as their favorite characters from comics, movies, TV shows, and video games.
And because of the location of the Washington State conference center, you can see the center of Seattle packed with cosplayers!
The level of detail and craftsmanship in many of the cosplays is truly impressive. In addition to cosplay, Emerald City Comic Con features a wide variety of guests, panels, and events. There is something for everyone at this amazing convention.
Whether you’re a hardcore fan or just looking for some fun with friends, Emerald City Comic Con is sure to be a memorable experience.
Emerald City Comic Con runs from August 18th – 21st 2022
Japan Weekend – Madrid Spain
This annual event celebrates all things anime and manga.
Thousands of fans come from all over Spain to enjoy cosplay, live music, and traditional Japanese food. Held at IFEMA convention center it’s also perfectly located for the airport and getting into Madrid!
With a massively friendly vibe and a wide range of artists creating and promoting their work, you can find so much to do at this great convention.
It also provides a great opportunity to buy hard-to-find merchandise and meet other fans. JW Madrid is the perfect place for any anime fan to celebrate their love of Japanese culture!
Japan Weekend Madrid runs from the 24th – 25th of September 2022
New York Comic Con – Javits Convention Center – New York
NYCC attracts over 200,000 attendees from all over the globe.
The four-day event is packed with panels, screenings, and autograph signings featuring some of the biggest names in entertainment. As well as celebrities: the list of comic book artists and writers is astounding!
PRO TIP – Work out which floor of the convention center you can enter through!
It also offers up some amazing exclusive collectibles and a jaw-dropping list of sponsors! When we attended we could not get near the FUNKO stand due to the queue being hours long!
Naturally, NYCC is also a showcase for cosplay, with attendees dressing up as their favorite characters from a wide range of fandoms.
In addition to being a celebration of all things geeky, NYCC is also a major economic engine for New York City, with an estimated impact of $100 million. We hope that this continues to grow and it continues to succeed for years to come!
New York Comic Con runs from October 6th -9th 2022
MCM Birmingham – Birmingham UK
IT’S still one of the biggest comic cons in the United Kingdom, and it attracts a huge range of guests from comic book creators to TV and film stars
PRO TIP – The train takes you straight into the Convention Center no need to drive!
MCM Birmingham is a great place to meet new people and make new friends, as well as to enjoy all the fun and excitement of the event. There is always something going on at MCM Birmingham, so there is never a dull moment.
Whether you are into comics, films, TV or anything else, MCM Birmingham is sure to have something for you every November.
MCM Birmingham is held from 12-13th November at the NEC Birmingham
AnimeCon – Holland
AnimeCon Holland is an annual anime convention that takes place in the Netherlands.
It is one of the largest anime conventions in Europe, and attracts attendees from all over the world. As well as three separate international cosplay competitions!
AnimeCon Holland features a wide range of activities, including cosplay competitions, panels, workshops, and gaming tournaments.
There is also a Dealer’s Room where attendees can purchase anime-related merchandise and an Artist Alley where local artists sell their artwork.
AnimeCon Holland is a great place for fans of all ages to join together and celebrate their love of anime.
Anime Con has relocated this year, but as always the organization putting on an amazing event. And we can’t wait to back there and at other Anime Conventions in the Netherlands in 2022!

Connichi – Germany
Connichi is a three-day convention held annually in Kassel, Germany.
The convention center features a wide range of programming, including panels, workshops, gaming tournaments, and cosplay contests.
However for us the highlight is the gardens where friends gather together for cosplay picnics. Watching cosplayers in full dress and wig having an amazingly chilled good time is always so much fun.
Connichi is also known for its lively nightlife scene allowing the con to go on into the late hours. The convention center is adjacent to several bars and nightclubs, making it easy for attendees to enjoy a night out on the town. Whether you’re looking for a place to buy anime goods, participate in cosplay contests, or just party all night long,
Connichi is an amazing place to visit!

San Diego Comic Con
The legendary SDCC is a mecca for all things geek every July. And one day we’ll get tickets and get to go to the Convention center of the universe!
World Cosplay Summit
The final destination for some of the world’s best cosplayers the WCS is a 10-day extravaganza held in Nagoya Japan with sponsors, an exciting schedule and TV coverage!
ColossalCon
Looking for a summer event that’s not at a convention center? Then look no further than Colossalcon! This annual event takes place in June at a waterpark resort, so you can enjoy all the amenities of the park expo while hanging out with fellow fans. And if that’s not enough, the swimming pool is always a popular gathering spot for cosplayers. So whether you’re looking to make new friends or just find the latest Anime, Colossalcon is the perfect place for you.
Anime Expo
Anime Expo is one of the biggest anime feastivals in the world, and it’s definitely a must-attend event for any anime fan! The convention is held every year in Los Angeles, and it attracts fans from all over the world. Anime Expo is four days of non-stop anime goodness, with panels, screenings, cosplay, and more. There’s also a huge exhibit hall in the convention center where you can buy all sorts of anime merchandise. If you’re an anime fan, Anime Expo is definitely the place to be!
